Implementation
Professional Development is a shared responsibility between the school and the staff members.
Each staff member will develop a personal Professional Development plan that is embedded within, and reflects the Performance Review Process.
A staff member will be assigned the responsibility of Professional Development coordinator. Their role will be to inform staff of Professional Development opportunities. The coordinator will also play a role in coordinating and organising Professional Development activities for individuals and the whole school, as well as communicating any replacement teacher needs to the Assistant Principal.
The Co-ordinator will be responsible for chairing a Professional Development Committee that will determine preferences for funds access.
The Professional Development budget provides funds for whole school and individual Professional Development interests, with preference given to supporting Charter priorities and school initiatives.
Each teacher has an annual allocation of Professional Development funding to be spent in consultation with the Professional Development coordinator.
Staff will report back via the Professional Development Evaluation Form and at Area and Staff Meetings.
Staff and Councillors attending Professional Development have a responsibility to report briefly to the remainder of staff/councillors about the activity and its benefits etc.
