To enable children to access modern technology for safety reasons.
To avoid unnecessary and unwanted interruption during school hours .
Implementation
Mobile phones are not permitted at school during school hours.
Mobile phones brought to school for out of hours use must be checked in at the general office on arrival at school and retrieved at 3.30pm.
Mobile phones are brought to school at the owner's risk.
Mobile phones are not to be taken on any excursion or camp.
In phone cameras are not to be used anywhere a normal camera would be considered inappropriate.
The Department of Education and Training does not hold insurance for personal property brought to schools and it will generally not pay for any loss or damage to such property. Staff and students are discouraged from bringing any unnecessary or particularly valuable items to school.(Circular 038/2005)
