To provide a school setting that facilitates effective teaching and learning.
To cater for existing requirements and plan for emerging needs.
To promote and value the work of students, parents and staff members who actively contribute.
Implementation
An active and representative Facilities Committee will meet at agreed times to plan improvements to the grounds and buildings as set down and approved by School Council.
Working within DET’s PRMS program, provision will be made for maintaining building and facilities with repairs and replacement where necessary.
The Facilities Committee will organise regular working bees of parents to assist with maintenance and construction tasks.
Resources will include DET and School Council funds.
The Facilities Committee will make recommendations regarding financial resourcing of facilities and expenditure to the Finance Committee.
Regular reports will be made to the community through the school newsletter.
The Principal will consult with the School Council President regarding enrolments.
Evaluation:
The Facilities Committee will make regular reports to the School Council.
As part of the Program Budget process the committee will conduct a yearly review of their work.
Recommendations for future planning will be submitted to School Council for consideration prior to the preparation of the school’s budget.
Where significant or on-going improvements are recommended, in-put and consideration will be invited from the wider community.
